Message from former Senator Kerry Nettle

I have now finished my term as a Senator. I'd like to say thank you to all the people who have supported The Greens.

As of July 1 The Greens increased our representation in the Australian Senate from 4 to 5.

Lift the abortion ban on Australian aid

The Greens are calling on the new Labor Government to make aid money effective by abolishing the Brian Harradine-era ban on Australian aid money being spent on abortion and contraception.

Climate Refugees will be a huge issue in the coming decades, starting with low lying Pacific Islands.

Kerry in Palestine and Israel

Over January Kerry Nettle will visit Israel and Palestine.

She will meet with human rights organisations, community leaders and parliamentarians.

In particular, she will be examining what impact the construction of the separation wall and the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict has on communities in Palestine and Israel.

Stop same-sex discrimination

Greens senator Kerry Nettle has introduced the Marriage (Relationships Equality) Amendment Bill 2008, which aims to remove discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
